Roborock Saros 20 debuts at CES 2026 with faster mapping and better positioning

Roborock has unveiled the Saros 20, its next-generation flagship robot vacuum, introducing it as a major step forward in autonomous home cleaning with faster mapping, improved positioning accuracy, and deeper environmental awareness.

The Saros 20 sits at the top of Roborock’s upcoming lineup at CES 2026, which also features the F25 Ace,Qrevo Curv 2 Flow, and RockMow X1 LiDAR,  and is designed for complex homes with mixed flooring, high thresholds, and dense furniture layouts, where navigation speed and precision often limit robotic cleaning performance.

At the core of the upgrade is Roborock’s new StarSight Autonomous System 2.0, which replaces traditional LDS navigation with a 3D Time-of-Flight vision system using dual transmitters and solid-state sensing.

Roborock has also focused on physical mobility and equipped the Saros 20 with its AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0, enabling it to cross single and double-layer thresholds of up to 4.5cm and 4cm respectively.

Roborock says this system samples at a much higher frequency than previous laser-based approaches to enable the Saros 20 to build maps more quickly while maintaining accuracy around thin furniture legs, suspended cabinets, and cluttered spaces.

Improved positioning also comes from enhanced obstacle recognition, with the robot capable of identifying more than 200 object types and detecting items as small as a few centimetres, reducing collisions and missed areas during cleaning runs.

According to Roborock, the Saros 20 can localise itself more precisely within a room, helping it recover faster after being moved and maintain reliable orientation even in low-light or visually sparse environments.

The Saros 20 system is paired with VertiBeam lateral obstacle avoidance, which uses vertical structured light to eliminate side blind spots, allowing the robot to clean more closely along walls and irregular furniture edges.

Despite these upgrades, the robot maintains an ultra-slim 7.98cm body, allowing it to reach under low-clearance furniture while still supporting liftable mops, brushes, and adaptive chassis movement.

Cleaning performance is driven by a 35,000Pa HyperForce digital motor, the strongest suction power among current roborock products,  and features dual spinning mops with adjustable downward pressure, and a dual anti-tangle brush system aimed at pet-heavy households.

Roborock presents the Saros 20 as a comprehensive redefinition of flagship autonomy, combining faster mapping, more reliable positioning, and adaptive hardware to handle increasingly complex home environments.
