Google Photos is headed to Samsung TVs later this year

Samsung is getting ready to bring Google Photos to its TV lineup, giving users a new way to relive their favourite memories on the biggest screen in the house.

The company says it plans to be the first TV brand to support Google Photos natively, with the rollout starting in early 2026 across its Samsung AI TV range.

The idea is simple: photos and memories that normally live on your phone will be able to surface directly on your TV, turning it into a kind of living-room photo gallery.

Once signed in with a Google account, users will be able to browse curated memories organised by people, places, and meaningful moments, presented in a much larger, more cinematic format.

Samsung wants the experience to feel deeply integrated rather than bolted on. Google Photos content is expected to appear naturally within features like Daily+ and Daily Board, so personal memories can show up throughout the day in a more contextual way, rather than requiring users to manually open a separate app each time.

The rollout will happen in stages. The first feature to arrive, called Memories, is planned for early 2026 and will be exclusive to Samsung TVs for six months.

Later in the year, Samsung and Google plan to introduce more advanced tools, including AI-powered creation features that let users apply themed templates, remix photo styles, or even turn still images into short videos.

There’s also a Personalised Results mode on the roadmap, which will surface related photos as slideshows based on topics like trips, hobbies, or locations.

For Samsung, this is another step in turning the TV into a more personal, ambient part of the home, while Google Photos gets a new, shared-screen context that goes beyond phones and tablets.

If it works as smoothly as promised, your TV could soon double as a window into your digital memories, not just a place to stream shows.
